Delivery Guidelines
When delivering a rental dumpster to you as a customer there are several guidelines we suggest you follow.
- Clear the way: Our dumpsters are about 8ft wide with a gate that swings out in the back. Please keep this in mind while thinking of a suitable location for the dumpster rental.
- There are instances that that you may need a permit. For a residential driveway, which is the common location to place the rental dumpster, you will not need a permit most of the time. A permit will be required generally if you are placing the dumpster on a sidewalk, street or on public property. These permits are called right of way permits issued by the building department or the City’s public works. Keep in mind it is the customer’s responsibility to obtain a dumpster permit in the cases where its required.
Dumpster Rental Permit / Right-of -Way Permit Where Applicable
For the right of way permit application, please take the following steps. Note that in the cases where a permit is required, the customer will need to obtain the permit before the rental dumpster is delivered.
- Search the website of your City for either Right of Way permit application or dumpster permit.
- If you can’t find the application form, you might need to call the City for some guidance as to where to find the application form.
- Fill and submit the form. Approval is usually within 24 hrs, but some can take up to two weeks.
- There might be a fee associated with the permit.
- Key information to have when filling the application include start and end date of rental period, dumpster rental company name & phone number, distance from parking meters, proximity to loading zones and fire hydrants etc.
- Contact HOA, to find out if there are any restrictions in your neighborhood/subdivision.
- Be mindful of neighbor’s driveways, fire hydrants & stop signs.
